Fuidheigh Sgarach, Stool | Martin Campbell & Ewan Thomson
This one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted stool is the result of an extended collaboration between Skye-based craftsman Ewan Thomson and Glasgow-based artist, Martin Campbell, as part of Campbell's residency at The Admiral’s House. Their brief was to create an ATLAS Edition that responded to their individual skills and their experiences of the environment whilst in Skye.
The stool has larch legs with birch plywood to hold the top in place (made by Martin Campbell). The top is made from a piece of cherry that was growing in Portree, the seasoning splits are filled with various pigmented resins, and is finished with tung oil.
